Rapides Regional Medical Center has been named one of America’s 250 Best Hospitals for 2025, according to new research released by Healthgrades. Not only is Rapides Regional Medical Center the only hospital recognized in Louisiana, this achievement places Rapides Regional in the top 5 percent of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance.

“This elite recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to exceptional patient care and clinical outcomes,” said Rapides Regional Medical Center CEO Vernon Jones, Jr., “placing Rapides Regional Medical Center among the upper echelon of hospitals nationwide. We are proud to be recognized for healthcare excellence in Central Louisiana and extremely proud to be the only hospital in our state who achieved this honor.”

The achievements are based exclusively on the systems of care that support what matters most: patient outcomes.

To determine the top hospitals for 2025, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for over 30 of the most common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide. Healthgrades’ annual analysis revealed significant performance gaps between the nation’s highest- and lowest-achieving hospitals, making it increasingly important to seek care at a top-rated facility. From 2021-2023, patients treated at one of America’s 250 Best Hospitals had a 31.4 percent lower risk of dying.

“As one of America’s 250 Best Hospitals, Rapides Regional Medical Center is elevating the standard for quality care nationwide,” said Brad Bowman, MD, chief medical officer and head of data science at Healthgrades. “Healthgrades commends Rapides Regional for their ongoing leadership and commitment to providing the best possible care for all patients in Central Louisiana.”

In addition to this recognition for overall clinical care, Rapides Regional Medical Center also is the recipient of numerous accolades related to its exceptional patient outcomes in key service areas, including Cardiology, Orthopedics, Neurosciences, Pulmonary, Vascular, Gastrointestinal and Critical Care, ranking top 5 percent nationally in Pulmonary Care and top 10 percent nationally in Critical Care.

“Each day physicians, nurses, leaders and support staff work together committed to patient care and outcomes,” said Jones. “This recognition is a tribute to these dedicated colleagues who tirelessly prioritize our number one focus — the patient.”
