Minimally invasive surgeries we offer
Our hospital is home to a robust minimally invasive surgery department that is able to perform an increasingly large number of surgeries each year.
Robot-assisted surgery
Our experienced surgical team performs robot-assisted procedures across colorectal, gynecology, bariatric and general surgeries.
With a robotic arm operated by a separate computer console, this advanced technology allows our surgeons to operate with greater precision and control, while accessing hard-to-reach areas. This makes complex operations possible with just a few small incisions. On the console, our physicians have an enhanced 3D, high-definition vision of an operative field and superior visual clarity of tissue and anatomy.
Possible benefits for you include:
- Less pain
- Minimal scarring
- Quicker return to normal activities
- Reduced risk of infection
- Shorter hospital stay
Types of minimally invasive surgeries we perform
Laparoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive procedure where a camera is inserted, and small cuts are done to the body. It is typically used for colorectal, bariatric and gynecological procedures.
Arthroscopic surgery is another minimally invasive option that is primarily used for orthopedic procedures. During these types of procedures, a surgeon makes small cuts to fix issues within a joint.

Weight loss surgery
Also known as bariatric surgery, this type of surgery is a rewarding process, but one that requires patience, dedication and hard work. Weight loss surgery should always be treated as a last resort after medication and lifestyle changes. However, if those have proven ineffective, surgery has the potential to help you definitively achieve your weight loss goals.
Obesity has a wide range of physical side effects on the body, in addition to contributing to serious conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea and joint pain.
Candidates for weight loss surgery typically meet the following criteria:
- Commit to the guidelines of a weight loss surgery program
- Have a body mass index (BMI) of 35 to 39.9, and been diagnosed with one or more serious conditions
- Have a BMI of 40 or higher
- Understand that surgery is a tool that requires lifestyle changes for long-term success.
