Mom's Choice
Moms know best, and that’s the idea behind the “Mom’s Choice” program. This program gives new moms the option of keeping their newborns in the hospital room with them, or having them sleep in the hospital’s full-service newborn nursery, so mom can get some well-deserved rest.
Moms who choose to keep their babies with them will have the benefit of regular visits from a dedicated nurse who is specially trained to take care of mom and baby. Everything, including weighing, measuring, medications and visits from the baby’s pediatrician, will take place at mom’s bedside. Expectant mothers will be asked during the admission process whether they want to keep their baby in the room with them, or use the newborn nursery. You can change your mind at any time during their stay.

It will also take about four months for you to receive your baby's social security card. Look for it to arrive shortly after you receive the birth certificate. If you do not receive one, contact the Social Security office at (877) 876-3171. Learn more by referencing our birth certificate FAQs page.
